Banksy and the Oscars in LA

The Banksy documentary, Exit Through the Gift Shop, was nominated for an Academy Award. The awards show was held last night in Hollywood, CA. No one besides his immediate circle actually know who Banksy is or what he looks like. Everyone started buzzing about the idea of Banksy showing up and accepting an award if he would have won.

Was he even going to show up? Will he send someone else to accept the award? He is not showing up! Those were just a few of the questions and statements that arose when the conversation of Banksy and the Oscars were talked about.

Banksy was definitely in Los Angeles during the Oscar weekend. There are tons of street art up all over Los Angeles to give us the assumption Banksy was present.

Too bad the documentary didn't win, now we will just have to wait to put a face to the name Banksy.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York will exhibit some of Alexander McQueens amazing pieces. It will be held May 4th till July 31st, 2011. The Met will have over 100 pieces from Alexander McQueens 19 year career. 

Hyden Yoo New York Fashion Week

The Hyden Yoo presentation at Soho House during New York Fashion Week F/W '11 was the most highly anticipated and talked about during the season! We think the presentation was one of the best during this whole season! Not bad for a NYFW debut!! Big props to Hyden Yoo. We can't wait to see what he has in store for us in the near future!

Tradeshow season for the fashion industry is in full effect and it's almost that time again for everyone to venture to Las Vegas for Magic, Project, Capsule, and ENK Las Vegas. A time for business and lots of debauchery. This season will mark the 10th party for the joint party, Creative Recreation and Hudson Jeans. Everytime this party goes on, it is complete madness. We are excited for this one, only part we hate is that it happens during fashion week.

Ultra Music Festival

Winter Music Conference (WMC) and Ultra Music Festival are not happening simultaneously this year. Ultra allegedly was telling artists that they can't play anything related to WMC and WMC after parties. WMC decided to move their dates up two weeks. At first, the.beautiful.kids crew decided to only go with WMC this year and skip out on Ultra, but with this line-up, how could we resist?! This line-up is STACKED!!!!!!!

Diplo for Alexander Wang

It took me a few times walking by the advertisements all over Soho NYC, to make sure this was Diplo? I had to ask my roommate and a few other people to confirm. Diplo is definitely starting to get marketed properly. First the blackberry commercials, and now Alexander Wang! Is this a hint on who Alexander Wang will have dj his New York Fashion Week after party this season? Maybe Major Lazor?! We hope so!!

Origami Launch

Celebrating the Chinese New Year, Origami is going to throw a launch party this Wednesday, February 3rd at Chinatown Brasserie! the.beautiful.kids got a little peep of the guestlist, and it is definitely impressive with supermodels, hip hop legends, and MTV reality stars.
