Trade Shows in Las Vegas

The trade shows in Las Vegas are all under way today. Or atleast everyone arrived yesterday and today. Magic, Project, and ENK are all in different areas and convention centers with all the brands, buyers, and press. We decided to skip out on this one, since we already have a crazy busy September ahead of us and it always takes us about 2 weeks to fully recover from the debauchery and madness that happens in Las Vegas.

We do wish though we were at the Creative Rec party that is happening tomorrow night. By far that is always THE best party during the trade shows in Las Vegas!!!

The Situation given money to NOT wear clothes

Everyone watches the Jersey Shore on MTV. Most people like us are watching it for pure entertainment. We can't believe people exists like this. Our Italian friends are upset the cast represents being Italian. In the end the Jersey Shore cast members are all douchbags and just a bad look. Abercrombie has reached out to Mike "the Situation" Sorrentino to ask him STOP wearing their clothes for monetary compensation. Abercrombie believes that their demographic might not agree with the "character" of the Situation, saying that it is not the look they are going for. 

Snooki, another person on the same reality show, has known to receive handbags from luxury brands. The brands she was receiving were sent from other pr companies, and not the luxury brands own pr. This tactic is used to have Snooki wear other brands and not their own. This has proven to be more successful than Abercrombies plan to pay out the Situation

Lady Gaga's workshop

Forget about Santa's workshop, Barneys decided to collaborate with Lady Gaga to do a multifaceted holiday campaign centered around Lady Gaga's workshop. This entails Lady Gaga's style of Santa's workshop and Nicola Formichetti will be helping. Beats by Dr Dre

Dr Dre decided to sell 51% of Beats Electronics and he got a nice pay day of just a little over $300 million this past week for doing so! We assume he had a great weekend! Now when can we expect his new album, Detox, to drop since he now has more time to work on it?

Sorry we haven't posted anything in awhile. Everyone has been on holiday and now playing catch up with work over here and getting ready for all the Fashion Weeks and Fashions Night Out, not to mention the Quik Pro and Toronto Film Festival all running simultaneously!! But we are excited to have our friend, Laila Pudule, as our model of the week! 

US Open of Surfing

Huntington Beach had another huge success and turnout for the US Open of Surfing this year! 10 time World Champion Kelly Slater wins the US Open. On Thursday during the day, our favorite indie band from Sweden, The Sounds, performed. On Saturday, with the madness on the beach, Mgmt performed a free show. There were so many people down there, the cops had to put on the riot gear to prevent anything from happening. Luckily everything worked out great. Sunday was the finals and Kelly Slater rose to victory winning the US Open! We can't wait till next year!!

RVCA x Southside US Open of Surfing party

This past weekend Ronnie Flynn hosted the RVCA x Southside US Open of Surfing party at Mesa in Costa Mesa CA. DJ dexterlove, Kid Mac, and The Pricks all performed! It was a packed night with a tons of fun!! Our favorite party of the weekend!

Agenda trade show started yesterday in Huntington Beach CA. Everyone in the board sports industry was there socializing, working, selling, buying, and just hanging out. Of course Krew had everyone at their booth for the open bar. Everyone from Nike, Creative Recreation, Stussy, Fresh Jive, Volcom, Vans, and so on were showing at Agenda. The two after parties last night, that everyone was excited about was the Too Short performance at Black Bull and the official Agenda party at the Hyatt!

Creative Recreation is throwing a party tonight in Huntington Beach CA aka Surf City to kick off the Agenda Trade Show. Agenda Trade Show runs simultaneously as the US Open of Surfing, both being held on the beach in Huntington. The US Open of Surfing is the world's largest youth culture and action sport festival. Over 500,000 people show up to the event every year. The US Open of Surfing showcases the best in surf, skate, bmx, music, fashion, and art! As every Creative Recreation event, we know this is going to be nothing less than madness, and we mean that in the best most amazing way possible.
